Global operations

Global operations features in NPI provide the ability to assign global operation aliases and configure global packout and global shipping reports. Global operations are highly configurable and are not tied to a specific process definition in FactoryLogix. 

• Global operation aliases are used to define global operations accessible from the Production client application. Operation aliasing allows process engineers to group similar operations from one or more process flows for reporting purposes and dashboards.
  

Note

If you don't use global operations in FactoryLogix, you don't need to define any operation aliases as global.

• Global packout allows you to specify how finished goods are packed—independent of any single batch or process.

• Global shipping allows you to create and export shipping reports during a packout operation in FactoryLogix. The reports contain customer-specific information and are highly configurable.
