Define quality standards

Define Quality Standards button

Manufacturing quality standards are designed to standardize the methods that manufacturers use to ensure consistent product quality.

The Define Quality Standards area of the NPI client application is used to define manufacturing quality standards. In FactoryLogix, a quality standard consists of opportunity count methodologies and defect threshold alarms:

  • Opportunity count methodologies define how FactoryLogix counts and calculates the number of opportunities in an assembly where a defect or other problem might occur. This calculation is used to generate Defects Per Million Opportunities (DPMO) reports and charts in the Analytics client application.

  • Defect Threshold Alarms allow you to set up limits by inspection code so that alarm reactions such as email notifications are triggered as soon as an operator exceeds the specified threshold for an inspection code.

For each quality standard defined, you can specify opportunity count methodologies and multiple defect threshold alarms.
