Create a mechanical/box build work instruction

Wizard-driven steps/work instructions are only available for new operations that don't yet have any steps or activities. If an operation already has steps and/or activities, you can select a step type using the Add  button under Step List in the NPI Process tree.

This wizard helps you create a single Standard step for a new operation. 

1. Log into the NPI client application.

2. Open a process definition, create a new operation, then double-click the operation to open it for editing. (See Add a new operation to a process flow for more information.)

3. Select Create a mechanical/box build work instruction on the right side of the window.
   
   
   

   

   
   
   A Standard step is created for the operation.
   

4. Double-click the Standard step #1 in the Process tree to display the Settings dialog where you can customize the step settings. (See Standard step for details.)
